Nomadism, as one of the oldest forms of human subsistence, carries a rich heritage of cultural and artistic elements. Among the Boyer-Ahmad nomads, clothing and handwoven textiles, as two fundamental pillars of identity, reflect the livelihood structure, climatic conditions, and beliefs of this people. However, the rapid transformations of the modern world have posed serious challenges to the survival of these elements. The main research question is: based on what components and processes can the pathology of clothing and handwoven textiles in the culture and art of Boyer-Ahmad nomads be explained? The aim of the research is to identify, analyze, and systematically classify the damages inflicted upon clothing and handwoven textiles, and to explain the processes affecting these damages. The research method is applied and descriptive-analytical, and data collection was conducted through documentary and field studies in the regions of Gorgo, Sardab, Kakan, Vezg, Zangava, and the Malah-Shore mountain pass. Data analysis was carried out using a qualitative and inductive approach. The findings indicate that the damages can be explained at two levels: "physical-technical" and "social-functional." At the physical level, factors such as environmental erosion, biological deterioration, and the use of substandard raw materials (synthetic fibers and unstable dyes) were identified. At a deeper level (social-functional), however, these elements have undergone a substantial transformation: native clothing has been reduced from an everyday garment to a ritual and performative attire, while handwoven textiles-under the influence of economic rationality and the influx of cheap industrial goods-have lost their consumptive function and have become commodified. The results indicate that although physical damages are potentially repairable, the cultural damages arising from generational rupture and lifestyle changes pose a more serious threat to the continuity of these arts.
