Although building decoration in the past in urban settlements and large demographic centers followed a common
culture of that era, mainly in the form of a comprehensive culture and with the specific architectural principles and
techniques of each period. However, construction of the building in rural areas is more dependent on the construction
culture and environmental conditions of the village location. There are fewer signs of the general architecture
of the public architecture in each period. Considering such an attribute in the present study, a mosque in village
Sarawr of Golpayegan is considered as an example of such buildings, which consists of only one wooden columned
prayer hall, and interesting wooden artifacts and special roof and entrance door which has been studied.
This research has been carried out based on a descriptive-analytical method, using field studies, experimental
methods and comparative methods. The building has been compared with other wooden columned mosques.
Based on the main findings of this research, the Jaame, mosque of Sarawr is one of the village buildings which
has wooden arrays from the two periods of Timurid and Safavid, and these arrays, meanwhile were influenced by
the general characteristics of the decorative arts of these two periods and offer some special and different features
originating from the specific and native methods of the construction area of the building.
